Last season, the Philadelphia Eagles were labeled “The Dream Team” heading into the 2011 season. They proceeded to wet the bed on their way to a disappointing 8-8 finish to the year. Head coach Andy Reid more than likely feels his seat getting warmer as his teams continue to underachieve. Eagles quarterback Mike Vick realizes that anything short of a long playoff run can spell doom for the current core of the Eagles’ operations. From NFL-AtL:
“We feel like there is a need to win, and win quickly,” Vick said Monday, via the Associated Press.
“Coach Reid talked to us today about staying the course, maintaining our focus, going in there week in and week out, and controlling what we can control,” Vick said. “We can sit and talk all day until our faces turn blue, but until we go out there, we still have to make it happen.”
The Eagles have their work cut out for them in the NFC East. Not only do they have to battle against the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants, they have to fend off the Dallas Cowboys and the rising Washington Redskins as well. If the Eagles can return to prominence this season, it could go a long way in determining the futures for a lot of folks in Philadelphia this season
