Kevin Kolb Falls Further Behind In Battle for Arizona’s Starting QB Gig

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb returned from a rib injury on Friday night to play second string QB in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.  Kolb finished his night going 1-for-5 while running for his life multiple times behind a porous offensive line.  Although John Skelton did nothing to put any separation between the two (3/6, 1 INT), he looked comfortable in his drop backs and didn’t seem overwhelmed with what he was faced with.  You have to wonder just how much the Cardinals regret the trade for Kolb.  Not only did they give cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie plus a second round draft pick, the also signed Kolb to a six year $65 million contract.  Arizona had the opportunity to cut him this past offseason without incurring any major financial hits.  Instead, they chose to pay him his $7 million roster bonus before offseason training began.  It’s all looking like money down the toilet at this point …
