As an analyst for CBS’s NFL broadcasts and a sports radio personality, former quarterback Boomer Esiason is no stranger to voicing his opinion. Earlier today, he pulled no punches when discussing the New York Jets quarterback situation, with current starter Mark Sanchez in the unenviable position of having the football savior himself, Tim Tebow, leering over his shoulder. So, Mr. Esiason – tell us how you feel …
“I’m just telling you right now, I would (cut him), and I’ll tell you why I would,” Esiason said alongside “Boomer & Carton” radio partner Craig Carton. “It’s not in any way, shape or form — I think — benefiting this team.”
“All you have to do is watch him throw the ball,” said Esiason. “Just watch him.”
“I just think this whole thing — at least from my perspective right now in relation to who Mark Sanchez is, your starting quarterback — is a major mistake,” Esiason said.
For his part, Tebow, using the power of positive reinforcement, dodged this controversy in the same manner in which he’d elude a would be tackler.
If Tebow was as effective at passing the football as he is at passing at the chance to engage in a public verbal beef, the Jets would have a Pro Bowl QB on their hands.
