Demaryius Thomas Is Enthused About the Presence of Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker enjoyed the most productive seasons last year in their young careers. That success came with unconventional signal caller, Tim Tebow at the reigns. Thomas sees the switch at the quarterback position leading to big things for him and his fellow receivers. From DenverBroncos.com:
With a four-time NFL MVP under center this year in quarterback Peyton Manning, Thomas is looking forward to building on his success last season. That all starts with the work that he’s put in during the offseason with the team’s new quarterback.
“Everybody knows he’s one of the best in the game, a future Hall of Famer,” Thomas said of Manning. “I feel like just being out there with him, it helped because it seemed like he knew what was going on. He answered questions and he was like another coach because I was learning stuff from him that I didn’t know. I feel like he’s going to help me out this year.”
Earlier this offseason, when asked about the upgrade at the most important position in the offense, Thomas didn’t hold back:
Appearing on 790 The Zone in Atlanta with The 2 Live Stews, Thomas opened up about his old quarterback and the organization’s decision to trade him.
“It’s a business decision. I ain’t going to say I was sad (about Tim leaving) because the only thing they remember is that pass. You gotta go back and look at the rest of the games. I wasn’t getting no balls. You had to make some of these plays where some players were open and he is not making the throws, but I don’t want to talk bad about Tim, but hey I am happy we got Peyton.”
Thomas and his fellow wide receivers in Denver should be looking forward to a more traditional NFL offense with Peyton Manning in the fold.
